Saint Vincent’s Day is a very special day for winemakers and wine lovers, as it is the day on which the quality of the autumn harvest is predicted. Saint Vincent’s Day customs and traditions play an important role in the lives of Villány winemakers, too, who go from cellar to cellar, tasting each other’s wines, asking God’s blessing on the vines and even using superstitious tricks to ensure a good harvest. Following the tradition of the past years, we are looking forward to welcoming you with a colourful Saint Vincent’s Day programme! In the morning we have BARRELS, during the day we have VINEYARD HIKING and in the evening VINCE DINNER programmes!
VINEYARD HIKING VINCE: The whole landscape event includes a bus tour of the Villány wine region and a traditional Saint Vincent’s Day feast. The Vineyard Hiking versions can be reached on several routes. Participants will enjoy an unforgettable winter landscape experience, exciting games, delicious wines and tasty snacks.
BARREL VINCE: This event offers you the chance to taste and learn about wines still ageing in barrels before being released.
DINNER VINCE: After a full day of walking and standing, in the evening there will be a selection of gastronomic programmes offered by the hosts in several communes.
Advent magic at the Diófás Square

Children and adults are all welcome at the Advent event in Diófás Square. We have it all covered: Christmas carols, a children’s show and a craft fair, mulled wine, gingerbread, hot tea. Preschoolers from the Kikerics kindergarten in Villány will open the event with a performance. It is followed by the festive programme of the students of the Villány Primary School. From 17h00, Anikó’s Fairy Tale Snug will provide entertainment for the little ones. The closing event is the arrival of Santa Claus and children can take photos with him.
Advent choir concert in Villány

The Girls’ Choir of the Kodály Zoltán Secondary School of Pécs will give a choir concert in the Catholic Church in Villány on the 3rd Sunday of Advent. Conductor: Rózsa Bernadett, piano accompaniement by András Várkonyi.
Christmas Concert

The Villány Community Center will host a festive concert of local cultural groups on the 4th Sunday of Advent. A perfect way to get in the mood for Christmas.
